Once you are happy with your quotation, and we have agreed payment terms, we can agree when to start work on your roof. This page contains information about what we will do to manage the works through to completion.

Dates for the work

As far as possible we will stick to the dates agreed. Because we do not undertake large commercial pitched roof projects, our roofers will not be pulled off the job, leaving you with a half finished roof. The main uncertainty is the weather. Naturally, you do not want your roof stripped off during heavy rain or high winds. Our prime concern is the health and safety of yourself and our team. If bad weather delays work, we will talk to you and agree revised dates as soon as possible.

Once we start work, we will ensure that your roof is protected at all times. If we have stripped off the roof covering, but not finished the replacement, we will put fully weatherproof tarpaulins in place to prevent any leakage. In the worst-case scenario, such as a severe storm, we provide a 24-hour emergency call out service.

We can generally give a start date within a few weeks. We are not tied down to large commercial pitched roof projects, because homeowners and small businesses are our chosen main customers. Therefore we will not have to fit you in around other projects. We can normally do emergency remedial work very quickly if this is needed.

Insurance

R & D Roofing carries full public liability insurance for your protection. Copies of our policies are available for inspection on request.

Planning and Other Consents

Planning permission is not normally needed for roofing projects, unless you are in a conservation area or some other special factors apply. If we think that this might be the case, we will advise you of this. If in doubt, you can call your local authority planning department for further advice.

Our Team

Our team of trained roofers will carry out work. All are fully insured and have specialist training. All work will be planned and managed by Richard Butler, owner of R & D Roofing. Our team are a professional and friendly bunch, who will turn up on time and get on with the work. Supplies of tea are at your discretion! If you have any concerns at all during the work, you can talk to our team. Alternatively you can call Richard who will deal with any queries personally. When the job is finished, any scaffolding will be taken down and removed from site, as well as any debris and equipment, which will be cleared to leave your property in a neat and tidy condition.
